Managers wishing to understand SEI's Capability Maturity Model (CMM)
for Software including its business/sales implications.

Workshop Description:

This workshop informs company officials about the V1.1 Capability Maturity Model for Software and explains, in management terms, the impact on the software business and potential sales.

The costs and benefits of achieving Level 2 and Level 3 of this model; are discussed.  Primary focus is on business trends and management issues related specifically to the model.

On completion of this workshop, participants will have sufficient knowledge to forecast a budget/schedule and to decide whether SEI SW-CMM is worth pursuing.

Workshop Goals:


 
1. Obtain a basic understanding of the SEI SW-CMM V1.1 model.
2. Learn the value of the various SEI appraisal methods including the role of SEI and certified assessors/evaluators.
3. Discover a typical approach, costs, schedule and benefits of implementing a system compliant with the SEI SW-CMM model.
4. Discover who in the software industry is getting certified.
5. Separate myths from fact.
